The iChurch Method is a book authored by Jason Caston, who is a leader in the church tech industry specifically church websites. He has worked with several very large church organizations. He offers this publication as a way to share his wealth of knowledge with churches both large and small. The author’s primary goal is to “help ministries advance the Kingdom online and take the Gospel to the world”

In the iChurch Method Jason gives readers a sound step by step path to follow as they plan, implement and maintain a website for their faith organization. Each chapter is focused on a specific topic that needs to be addressed by church leaders and church technical teams when building a website. One of the greatest features of the book is that it is actually written as two books in one! Jason provides instruction and explanation for ministers and church leadership about the need for church websites and how to implement a strong site. He also offers the church technical folks a clear pathway to building a website that covers all the bases to connect church membership and leadership. Each chapter is written in two parts, one that speaks leadership and then a second section the looks at the topic from a technical point of view. This is truly brilliant and really showcases Jason’s understanding of the world of Church websites.

The iChurch Method presents not only explanation for each step but also provides readers with a clear set of instructions on how to get the job done. To help make his points clear, Jason shares his own website building experiences and provides photos with screenshots throughout the book. Readers can see exactly what needs to happen.
Another powerful aspect of the iChurch Method is the number of great resources listed within the publication. Readers are given a host of great sites to check out with clear explanation on how and when you would use the resource. This is a tremendous asset for anyone building a church website. It definitely clears the way and takes the mystery out of getting started with the process.
I must note that I do find one drawback to this great book. And this fault is not caused by the book nor author but is to be laid at the foot of our modern world. I am speaking of course about the limits of any technical publication in such a fast paced world. But like all wise teachers Jason has provided learning space for his students that takes this into account. There is now an iChurch Method Volume 2 which takes readers into subject like internet church campuses and mobile websites. I can imagine he is working on a volume 3!! In the meantime we can all find current news and updates in the world of church websites on Jason’s blog-The iChurch Method

The iChurch Method is definitely a wonderful resource for ministries working to develop an ongoing connection with their congregation and the community via the internet.
